Still Not in Love With Fruits & Veggies After All These Years of Adulting? Don’t Give Up, Juice Instead!

Prep Your Juices for the Week, Here’s How:

We love when we stumble upon restaurants with a large variety of juices, so it made sense for us to juice our own drinks at home. We started with a google search to compare reviews and prices of highly rated juicers and ultimately decided on the Breville (Amazon, $170.) The booklet inside the juicer is super helpful with recipes. You can easily make your own recipe by putting whatever you want in there but it’s smart to know what each fruit and vegetable is good for. By using specific ingredients you can control whether your juices are specific for various things such as energy, Vitamin C, recovery, detox, etc. You can juice a whole bunch of your favorite fruits and/or vegetables together but it is very likely they won’t taste good all together! I’d hate for you to waste your time and money, so I recommend reading the booklet and definitely explore Pinterest to get creative!

Simple Formula

When it comes to preparing to juice, we usually don’t do everything in one day. The process is pretty tedious even thought it’s extremely simple. We grocery shop for our ingredients a couple of days in advance just in case some of the ingredients need time to get more ripe. We make up our own recipes but what helped us do that is knowing this simple 5-step formula:

Base (cucumber or celery)

1 or 2 leafy greens (romaine, spinach, kale, green leaf lettuce or watercress)

1 fruit to sweeten (apple, grapefruit, pear, kiwi, grapes, orange or pineapple)

For flavor/detox (lemon, parsley, ginger, cilantro or mint)

Give it a try to see how it goes, then add it to your weekly routine! Can’t wait to hear about any tasty recipes you create, let me know!
